Pakeezah released in 1972 will be well remembered by generations of its admirers for its touching story of a courtesan Meena Kumari, and for its lovely songs by Ghulam Mohammed. She was shown dancing on shattered glasses with all the pieces piercing her legs and wounding her like hell.
